What do you think of the live shows?
By krause • Nov 11th, 2009 • Category: News
This one goes out to all the people that have seen me perform live recently. Your opinion is important to me, since you’re the ones that are taking the trouble to come to my shows, and it’s my job to blow you away in return! (and yes, I just became aware of the fact that the words ‘job’ and ‘blow’ look weird in one sentence).
As you know I am now doing gigs with a live band. And since I want to be harder/better/faster/stronger, I am looking for ways to enforce my band members as much as possible, and I would really appreciate your input!
Some questions are for instance:
- what do you expect if you come to one of my shows?
- what do you think is most important of a live show?
- what do you think of the live band and the role they have in the show?
- is there something missing in your opinion? Or are there maybe even unnecessary elements?
Thanks for taking the time to think about it!
Don’t be shy if you think you don’t know anything about music, that’s not an issue. It’s about the experience. Please make sure your criticism is constructive. It’s lame to be mean : )
Ktnxbye!

what do you expect if you come to one of my shows?
That you have fun doing it, and show that to the crowd. And off course it would be a big party =D
what do you think is most important of a live show?
The most important of a live show is that there need to be a good chemical connection between the band members. And that they have fun doing the live show and playing.
- what do you think of the live band and the role they have in the show?
I think Krause is stronger with the live band, more power.
- is there something missing in your opinion? Or are there maybe even unnecessary elements?
I don’t know?
I hope you can do something with my info.
Hey Krause,
I was at your VERA show and liked it a lot, but since you ask…
It’s al a question of dynamics. If you start loud, you have to somewhere play a ’soft’ song to make the ones after seem loud again. A box with red balls looks more red when you add just 1 green ball
Renger (www.sweetwicked.com)
@Renger: You didn’t think ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Soaring Through The Starlight’ were green balls?
First of all: what a brave act to ask for feedback on your site! That’s how you can really make big leaps… Wow!
Second: I really liked the shows at Bevrijdingspop en Vera.
In general I think you really are a great performer, and I think you should exaggerate that more in your shows.
You are at best when you’re wearing your guitar and going wild. I think you should do that more and get away more from your keyboard.
Furthermore I like the ’somehow arrogant’ / self secure / bitchy Krause. The ‘clumsy’ small things with guitar plectrums and ‘Susanne-jokes’ don’t fit in that, in my opinion. The crowd wants Krause, I guess…
Finally I believe it is a good thing to lean more on your band players and interact / ‘flirt’ more with them – like you sometimes already do. It strengthens your personality. Therefore it may be a good thing to give them a little bit more space: litterally, but also by putting a light on them and introducing them and calling them in your show.
For now – just drop by at the OHK for a explanation.
Go go go…
I think you need more bandmembers. one that will rip off the keys from the synth and one guitar man. maybe someone with a drumcomputer. the more people on the stage the better i think. the crowd will notice that for sure.
i’ve seen two shows from krause, really love it!
peace
@krause haha, no no, not at all, the show short, I wanted more. So you could add a few more songs to this show (3-4 more?) One of them should be a Guitar Power song, because you have all the right Metal move hidden within you
And a horny love song with twisted lyrics. (Wanna write that one with me?)
Cheers ®
haai!
I had the opportunity to be present at ur gig in Brussels. I was very impressed by your performance. great sound, great mix between music and videos.
some answer:
- what do you expect if you come to one of my shows?
to be honest, I did not expect anything. I do expect now the same performance you had. maybe more emphasis on your videos, with a bigger screen
- what do you think of the live band and the role they have in the show?
there was just the drum and the bass. the two were, technically specking, just perfect. great mix with your music, maybe an added value to your show. Someone suggested more flirting between you guys on the stage, I agree on that, even if the band was having fun during your show. perfect match with your character.
hope you will be

hey Krause
i think u’re doing a great job, and i like that u use musicians to play your music, that’s what makes the difference and it gives a bigger blast to the whole sound idea. i adore ur music anyways
i was at ur gig at kafekultuur. i absolutely loved your live set, the band was rockin, i loved the perfection of the rythmic section, i was amazed by the bass player who played some impossible lines in some of the tracks ( do it again ) and the whole visual effect your bandmates had! great tracks great dynamics. i personally like it better when you play guitar.. dunno why it just fits ur image better

——-Some questions are for instance:
————-what do you expect if you come to one of my shows?
Well, I had no expectation at all, because before the gig in Hasselt I did not knew your sound. I was just looking for a time well spent.
————-what do you think is most important of a live show?
Grabing the audience and knocking them out of their feet.
————-what do you think of the live band and the role they have in the show?
I Really liked the live band, their were on top shape. I particularly liked the bass player, he was really hammering on that bass guitar, perfect. This being said, I cannot picture your live show without those guys. I do believe that their are an important aid to achieve question nº2.
————-is there something missing in your opinion? Or are there maybe even unnecessary elements?
Up in the thread Renger was talking about balls, well I also LOOOOOVE, not balls, but dynamics especially if they are LOUD. A loud show from beginning to the end is memorable.
Add ”I Lost my tampon” to the playlist again.
Loving all, but you playing the guitar is Xtra HoT!
Wow! I really liked the show… The first time I saw Krause live was at Vera last month and it was one of the best concerts I ever saw there! Great music, brilliant performance. Not just the singer but the bass guitar player and the drummer as well. Having seen Krause live even before I listened to the whole album for me “Krause” will always mean the name of a band, not just a singer! Keep it this way guys! And you’ll see me at the next concert!
- what do you expect if you come to one of my shows?
The same band line-up I saw at VERA!
- what do you think is most important of a live show?
Seeing that the artists enjoy it too
- what do you think of the live band and the role they have in the show?
I loved all the jokes Susan made on the Italian bass guitar player
- is there something missing in your opinion? Or are there maybe even unnecessary elements?
ALL elements I saw are necessary I think, though would be nice to see other light colors than mostly blue during the shows!
hey krause, i’ve seen you and the band last weekend at schlachthof. it was the first krause show which i’ve seen and it was awesome.
— what do you expect if you come to one of my shows?
i expected nothing, because it was the first show and i enjoy it.
— what do you think is most important of a live show?
good sound, balanced playlist and also be at close range.
— what do you think of the live band and the role they have in the show?
they did a great job, i think they suitable to krause.
Props!
Almere was geweldig!
